Wow! This makes me so happy! I musta listened to Est. 2003 about a ballionty times now, while out running. And this morning, a remix album drops? Say what? Yessir, happy day!
Local Action presents an album of remixes of DJ Q’s 2022 album Est. 2003 — collecting names from UK garage, bassline, Jersey Club, drill, amapiano and beyond.
DJ’s Q first full album since 2014, released last November, Est. 2003 cemented his status as one of the UK’s most important living artists, one whose musical DNA can be found in everything from contemporary UKG and chart-pop to underground grime and bassline.
Featuring collaborations with the likes of Todd Edwards, Finn, Lily McKenzie, Shola Ama, Hans Glader, Sharda, Star. One and Wolfie, Est. 2003 is already sitting on over three million album streams — with acclaim coming from Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, Crack Magazine, Mixmag and DJ Mag, who named it one of the Best Albums of 2022.
Est. 2003 Remixed collects the previous remixes from the album campaign — by Octo Octa, salute, Al Wootton, Carns Hill, Lavonz and Tribalczn (aka Scratcha DVA, LR Groove and Razzlerman) — with new versions by Jeremy Sylvester, Soul Mass Transit System, Flava D, Baltra, DJ Jayhood and Hans Glader, plus Russian producer Stan Rave, who won a recent competition to feature on the album.
